Introducing the King Charles III Gallantry Medal in Miniature

The King's Gallantry Medal, also known as the KGM, was established on June 20th, 1974 to recognise exceptional acts of bravery. While originally meant as a civilian honour, it is frequently granted to members of the military for displaying courage in situations where military distinctions are not suitable. The practice of awarding the gallantry emblem to the Order of the British Empire was discontinued at the same time, as it was determined that recipients would now receive the QGM for these types of actions.
