The General Service Medal with Northern Ireland Clasp was awarded for 30 days service between 14th August 1969 and 31st July 2007.
The General Service Medal 1962 -2007, also referred to as The Campaign Service Medal replaced the GSM (Army & RAF) and the Navy GSM in 1964 and was backdated to December 1962 to cover the Borneo campaign.
This was the longest running operation in the history of UK forces.
