Albert Medal Sea - 2nd Class (Bronze)
The Albert Medal was instituted on 7th March 1866 and named in memory of the Prince Consort who had died in 1861. The Land version of the awards was established in 1877.
In 1949 this medal was abolished and replaced by the George Cross. Just 45 1st Class Land awards were made.
This replica is hand made in the same manner as the original awards and is finished in 24ct gold plating and vitreous enamels̴ and as such please allow four weeks for delivery. The reverse bears the inscription "Manufactured for display purposes" and the year of manufacture.
